5 Oral Health Products You Should Have

Do you want healthy, white teeth and fresh breath? All of these can be achieved if you have the right oral health products and you are following proper dental and oral hygiene. Because many people dream of having the perfect teeth and yet they are not doing much about it. I have listed in this article some of the products that you should regularly use.

The key to better oral health is using the best products to keep your teeth and mouth clean. And when your mouth is clean then there will be less chances for bacteria to linger and cause major damage. There is also less chances for plaque to build up and start destroying your teeth.

Here are some of the oral health products that you should always have in your house and of course, you should always use.

1. Fluoride toothpaste
There are so many brands of toothpaste with so many ingredients advertised to give you whiter teeth and fresher breath. But the most important ingredient that you should look for in a toothpaste is fluoride. It is the substance that is responsible for making your teeth strong and healthy. And if you are wondering which one is better, gel or paste, the answer is neither. Both are equally effective in cleaning your teeth. It is just a matter of preference.

2. Toothbrush
Of course if you have a toothpaste then you certainly need the right toothbrush to match with it. When choosing a toothbrush think more of your convenience and not just the price tag. The handle must be long enough to help you reach all areas in your mouth. The bristles must not be too hard because it can scratch your teeth. A toothbrush with a tongue cleaner is a bonus although not a necessity.
3. Floss
All dental floss are the same when it comes to cleaning between your teeth. Whether it is waxed or unwaxed or flavored or unflavored is simply a matter of preference. Flossing is known to prevent gum disease, halitosis or bad breath, and dental caries.
4. Mouthwash
Mouthwash or mouth rinse is effective in controlling tartar, plaque and bacteria build up in your mouth. It is one item that you can include as a follow up to your regular brushing and flossing to help you get that really clean and fresh mouth feeling. However, a mouthwash does not completely eliminate the need for brushing and also flossing.

5. Throat lozenge
Although its focus is on the throat, a lozenge is effective in fighting off bacteria which in turn can prevent halitosis or bad breath. It should be taken in moderation as continued use for a number of days can have some health effect on you.

These are just some of the oral health products that you should always have within your house. And certainly, you should use them regularly, in particular you should brush your teeth at least twice a day and that you should floss after every meal. There are other products that are being introduced yearly, but those listed above remain the basics of any oral and dental hygiene.
