Do You Hate Bra Shopping With Your Teenager?

Do You Hate Bra Shopping With Your Teenager?Tips to make this adventure enjoyable

If you're like most moms, you want your daughter looking good in her clothes. This gives her confidence, self esteem, and makes her feel attractive. But according to statistics posted by the National Institute on Media and the Family, 53 percent of American girls are unhappy with their bodies by age 13. That figure grows to 78 percent by the time girls reach 17. Break-free Beauty founder and body image expert Sarah Maria Dreisbach explains "being unhappy with her body causes complications when bra or bathing suit shopping."

To help stimulate a teenage girl's body image confidence, the importance of wearing the right bra should be tops on your agenda. First, there is the issue of good support for their breast tissue. As you know, gravity takes its toll without any additional help; therefore, it's really important to get the right bra and the right amount of support. The teenage years are tough and whether your daughter is very small busted or very large busted she needs to be in the right bra for her and her lifestyle. Just remember that bras are like shoes, both mother and daughter need a wardrobe of different styles to fit in with their daily life.

A starting point is to take your daughter to a specialty store that has trained fitters to measure her properly. There are wonderful lingerie stores and sales associates who know how to work with teenagers. Crying, screaming, or arguing in the dressing room can definitely be avoided and should be a thing of the past. Over the years I've been in the bra business there is never a time when I'm around young adults that they don't tell me about their horrible bra shopping experiences. Talk to the fitter and tell her the price range you'd like to stay within and about how many bras you'd like to purchase. Then let her take your daughter in the dressing room alone and talk to her about her needs.

Following are a few tips depending on your daughter's bust size:

If your daughter is large busted:

o Wearing the right size bra will make her look smaller and give her the appearance of a smaller looking waistline. This undergarment will also make her clothes fit and look much nicer.

o Added support and relief on her back and shoulders are other realized benefits from wearing a properly fitted bra.

If your daughter is small busted:

o Wearing the right size bra and the correct style bra will make her look more in proportion with the rest of her body. It will give her more confidence in everything she does.

o A properly fitted bra maximizes her "resources" and can result in a lifted and fuller appearance.

If your daughter is average:

o Wearing the right size bra is important so that she doesn't damage her breast tissue. She is very lucky because she has so many choices from which to select.

How many bras does a teenage girl need? Every bra wardrobe should consist of six different styles: seamless, sexy, sport, strapless, specialty, and spa. You decide what is appropriate for your daughter and her lifestyle. Take into consideration her workout routine, participation in any sports and level of each, the style of clothes she wears, special occasions to determine which bras will fit best into her wardrobe.

During a woman's lifetime, they can change bra sizes six to eight times. For young girls, it is important to pay attention to their body changes as they might gain or lose weight. Even a slight gain of 5 pounds, a loss of 10, or new workout program/sport activity can result in a new bra size. Teenage years are hard enough on girls, ensuring she has access to this secret undergarment is just one tactic to help her grow in her self and in her self confidence.

As your daughter ages, different milestones are achieved. Remember her first smile, first word, first steps? This is just one more marker along the way to becoming a young woman and shopping for your daughter's first bra provides a bonding opportunity. Make this a fun experience. It certainly can be!

Choosing the Perfect Bra

Perfect BraIt has been loudly proclaimed from various media outlets that most women are wearing the wrong size bra. However, this may not be the only wrong choice when it comes to choosing the perfect bra. Other factors should also be taken into consideration, such as styles and fabrics.

When selecting the right bra for you, it is important to know your correct size. Some women have never been fitted by a professional, while other women have not had a proper fitting in several years.

If you have recently gained or lost weight, had a baby, or if it has been years since your last fitting, it is a good idea to first visit a lingerie store or fine department store to get correctly measured. Usually, fittings are done for free and you do not have to make a purchase at that time. If you prefer to shop for bras online, it is still important to know your true size to ensure proper fit.

Another point to consider is the style that fits your wardrobe and your lifestyle. If you are very active, it is wise to invest in several sports bras. They are often made with high-tech fabrics that can wick away moisture, so an intensive workout will not make you uncomfortable.

This style can vary greatly in terms of support, so if you are shopping for bras online, it may be a good idea to read the reviews of the particular brand you want.

For a professional wardrobe, your clothes will fit better and lay smooth on the body if you are wearing the right supportive undergarments. Under wire bras will give the lift, support and definition that is often needed when wearing business attire.

For particular tops and dresses, strapless and racer back styles may work best. Racer back styles are great for tank tops because the straps are positioned further back for a neater look. Strapless styles work great for dressier occasions, as formal wear often feature designs that expose the shoulders.

Tee-shirts and thin fabrics work best with bras that are cotton, microfiber, or satin. Lace and embroidery should be worn under tops that are made from thicker or textured fabrics to ensure a smooth look.

It is important to consider your current size, wardrobe and lifestyle when choosing the right lingerie for you. It is best to have an assortment of several styles in different fabrics.

Tips For Choosing Vanity Fair Bras

Vanity Fair BrasFor so many women who want quality brassieres and lingerie, and a great bra fit at an affordable price, sometimes it feels like looking for a needle in a haystack. Women wonder are there any intimate apparel manufacturers that offer what they are looking for? In a word, yes. Vanity Fair Lingerie offers great quality and afford ability throughout their product line. They are one of the most successful bra, lingerie and intimate apparel manufacturers in the world today. And, because of their lengthy experience and wide knowledge in the field of brassieres, intimate apparel and women's lingerie, they have the ability to judge the requirements of virtually every body shape, silhouette and size imaginable.

Where can one buy Vanity Fair Bras? To find the best selection of Vanity Fair bras and lingerie, it is a good idea to browse the online shopping websites rather than simply visiting the local department shops. Why? Because regional department stores usually only tend to carry a very limited variety of styles, colors and sizes. Some of the most popular websites that sell a wider variety of Vanity Fair bras at the most affordable rates include Her Room, Bigger Bras, and Freshpair. Another great online bra shopping option is eBay.com. Some eBay sellers do offer free shipping and can be a great deal, especially when it comes to finding your favorite discontinued bras that are be hard to find elsewhere.

In general, Vanity Fair or VF brassieres range from about $30, making them quite affordable for most women. And, the nice thing is, at such an affordable price, ladies can afford to stock up on several brassieres rather than just one or two.

Before purchasing Vanity Fair bras and lingerie, women need to have a basic knowledge of their silhouette and the different types of bras. Average and full figured women may be interested in the popular Beautiful Figure Elegance Full Figure Contour. This bra style is designed to provide a comfortable lift to the breasts throughout the day.

As a result, they are quite helpful in preventing health related problems such as a sore back or shoulder grooves that come from ill-fitting brassieres. Available in several different attractive colors and shapes, Vanity Fair bras and matching panties offer women a gorgeous look and a nice boost of self confidence.

38A Bra - The Top Three Lingerie Brands

38A Bra
Be it a size 38A Bra or any other size for that matter, women normally tend to stick to a certain bra brand. They only change if they are not satisfied with the quality or some other issue. However, my advice to all would be to experiment with all the bra brands because each is special in their own way.

Some brand might have a great sports bra while another might have a killer push up bra in size 38A. Similarly, some might be great at padded bras while one brand is known for the balcony bra it makes.

The top three selling bra brands in the United States are Fantasie, Bali and Wacoal. Let me cover all three of these in a little detail so that you too can understand why they are so famous and among the preferred brand for women worldwide.

Wacoal has been in the U.S market for the last 15 years or so. Celebs like Oprah have openly endorsed the brand on her talk show while Whoopie Goldberg, too, is said to be a fan of this brand.

This brand has bras from all shapes to all sizes. Be it a 38A bra or a padded bra, one can find it all. They are known for the comfort and generous cup size and have an extra lining for added comfort.

The Bali brand of lingerie was founded in the late 1920's and has grown to becoming one of the top lingerie brands in the world. It now belongs to the Hanes Company and its best-selling bra is the Bali Concealer Collection. These bras generally have a deeper cup than normal and hence some women buy one cup size smaller when going in for this brand.

Fantasie is a brand known for making bras for the full-figured women. If you are a woman with a big bust, then these bras are perfect for you. They have ranges from a D to a G cup although you can even find some in the A and B cup category. So if you are a 38A Bra wearer, there is no need to despair.

The best place to buy these bras or a 38A Bra is from their website. But I'll give you a hint that will save a lot of dollars for you. You can get all these brands at the online retail store called Amazon at very cheap rates. It's the most trusted retail brand in the world and I save thousands of dollars every year by buying my items there.

Choosing The Best Push Up Bra For Your Woman

Push Up Bra For Your WomanA lot of women are looking for the best push up bra in the market these days. This popularity can be attributed to the usefulness of the push up bra which greatly enhances the appearance of a woman's cleavage and makes her breasts look fuller and larger. It also greatly enhances the visual appeal of the women wearing it and gives her a lot more confidence.

The Push Up bra is also known as a padded bra because these days a lot of them have padded insert placed in the lower part of the bra cup. Some push up bra manufacturers are going even one step ahead these days by placing silicone and water based inserts into the cups to get the feel and look of large natural breasts.

How It Works

The best push up bra in the market is that which gives the feel of natural large breasts. It is so designed that it lifts the breasts and makes them appear more rounded and full. It's a great alternative to having silicone implants or plastic surgery in order to enhance the size of your breast.

Almost all push up bras work on the same principle by having a small padding built into the bra that pushes the chest out and adds a little extra cleavage. They also have a wire under-wiring which adds to the support at the bottom of the breasts and helps lift them even more.

A really good thing about these bras is that apart from giving a fuller look to your bust, it also offers a lot of support and helps a long way in preventing any injury to your chest that may result as a use of improper support.

Choosing the Best Push Up Bra Brand

Push Up Bra For Your Woman

There are a lot of good brands out there that have some excellent push up bras in their lingerie portfolio. The most famous among them is the Wonderbra and the push up bras by Victoria's Secret. In case you're looking to buy one for yourself, my suggestion would be to go in for these two brands as they have the best collection of bras.

Some other good push up bra brands that one can go in for are the ones by Jezebel, Playtex and Maidenform.

The Best Place to Buy Them

If you're looking to buy the best push up bra for yourself, then the best place to buy them would be from Amazon. Not only are they the cheapest among all the online retailers, they have stocks of all the major brands in the world. They even offer free shipping as well.

Another good option would be to search online for reviews on push up bras and then base your buying decision on that.

The Quest For A Well-Fitting Maternity Bra

I met up with a very good friend of mine at an evening soirée a mutual acquaintance was hosting a couple of weeks ago, and I noticed that the glass of champagne which seems to be permanently fused into the delicate paw of Felicia had been replaced with something dark red and fizzy. Thinking it must be some sort of new Champagne-based cocktail (she's just returned from a two week shopping trip in New York), I asked her about it. Looking quite shifty and lowering her voice, she informed me that it was a Vimto/Lemonade combination, as she has recently found out she is expecting her first child. I couldn't have been more thrilled for her - Felicia and Mark have been married for nearly ten years, and have been hoping for a baby for a while. It's still early, and they're not telling many people just yet, but she is completely delighted and already planning a colour scheme (gender neutral) for the nursery.
Fitting Maternity Bra

She looked a little surprised when I mentioned the joy of shopping for maternity clothes, but more particularly, for maternity lingerie and nightwear. She acknowledged the need for maternity trousers at some point, and possibly even a new winter coat, but seemed completely taken aback that there could be anything remotely glamorous about a maternity bra. Gone are the days when a woman needs to sneak into her local Mothercare or Marks and Spencer to choose a plain bra, with no shape and straps. Many lingerie boutiques are now stocking HotMilk, Panache and even the Marie Jo maternity and feeding bras.

I told her about the Carriwell bras I had had when I was expecting baby B - plain cotton, maternity or feeding bras, perfect for sleeping in, one handed clasp to make it easy for night feeds and a good, deep band for optimum support. The one I had particularly loved was a pull on design with a racer back - no thick straps to dig into my rather sore shoulders (I had very sensitive skin while I was pregnant). Added to this, a fabulous array of accessories - maternity support band, silk or cotton breast pads and heavenly light support panties to match the bras.

At this, she looked completely horrified and asked me how I could possibly bear to have worn something so plain when usually sumptuous lace lingerie is in order. There is a time in every woman's life - albeit thankfully short lived - where comfort is the order of the day. It's easy to get up in a morning usually, choose something beautiful to wear and the right lingerie to complement it, and to take the time to properly make up your face. When I was expecting B, by 6 months I was the size of a small family car, hadn't slept a full night in months and had such heavy and aching breasts that the mere thought of lace and underwires made me want to cry and put my nightdress back on.

However, our wedding anniversary came around the time I was seven months pregnant, and darling Mr N bought me the most delightful HotMilk nightdress and lingerie set. This was the turning point in my appreciation of maternity lingerie, and I was a little cross with myself for not discovering it sooner! The nightdress that he chose for me was black, knee length and oh so soft. It had secret support cups to ease the aches, and easy one-hand clips which were to prove invaluable for night time feeds. In fact (don't tell - I'd be so embarrassed - I still wear it now), it was perhaps the most well-chosen lingerie gift I have ever received.
